Leonard Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 We met up probably just before 10pm.. running 2 units low.. we rigged up and headed to outlet 1... I gave him a "new style" PMS ... told him a few problems Ive had with it.. and wanted to know his opinion... Well.... I GOT IT!! He kicked my BUTT using my own fly...LOL within just a couple hours we hooked up over a couple dozen... BONUS... the PMS we were using was tied on a jig hook with a tungsten cone.... Ive used this a couple times now and have caught very few on it.... Last night in the high water it was very effective!! after the water shut down.. we put on some hibernators.. and right back into them.. the hits we softer but still hooked into some really nice one *** would add more pictures.. but the camera card is full*** I was on the water last night deleting pictures as I was fishing... now thats a chore!! we end the night just after midnight... T7.. enjoyed hitting the water with you again.. maybe we dont have to wait so long the next! Leonard http://www.taneycomonights.com
tippet7 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 MONGO SAY "BRING MORE FLIES" I think that the fly was effective as long as there was a good current. As soon as the water dropped and the current slowed, the fish stopped hitting it. I even tried a pretty fast strip, but that didnt get anything. Thanks again Leonard, I had fun! You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Dave Cook Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I ran into Leonard and T7 Thursday night. Good to see you guys. I was fishing with my regular partner in crime Darrell. When the water dropped the fishing turned on. I was fishing a couple of hours with a "Poor Man's Hibernator", meaning I tied it with what I had, so it was close to a hibernator. Nice sized fish from 14 - 18 inches all night. The best one was about 20". Later on I changed to a purple PMS and finished the night with it. It worked all night. Using the PMS, I hooked the twin to one pictured but he launched himself skyward and thru the fly back at me. Dave Cook Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association - Kansas City
