Hi. I'm thinking about taking up Czech Nymphing but I need some help/info. First, is it Productive in MO trout streams? What rod setup and line do you use? I think that I can take care of the fly part, but this looks like a cool way to fish and it gives me something to try the next time that I am on a stream. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Travis

Hey Travis,

First of all it can be one of the most productive ways to fish Missouri trout streams. It can be done on a wide variety of water conditions so it can also be done with any rod/line set-up...even a 2wt if you wanted, although a longer rod is more desirable. I would suggest checking out the VAST online articles to really get started. Here is just one of literally thousands of articles...but it is really good. Click Here and another.... Click Here Too

Have fun!

I'm willing to bet that someone will be doing a Czech Nymphing class at Conclave this October. Good way to get a good visual and even some hands on experience with someone who knows a lot about it.

I believe that John Wilson held a class last year that was called "advanced nymphing techniques".
