Brian K. Shaffer Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Roark Creek itself holds a small number of smallmouth throughout it.. but I am not too sure about where it dumps into Taney. I have hiked up into there a few times.. but not in a while. The one area I know holds smallies on the Creek is now behind a gate, and the other spot I know (by stockstill park) doesnt have a whole lot of water in it right now, but it might in May. I would focus for trouts in Taney up at the dam. You will be shocked at the large number of beautiful fish.. and possibly the amount of other anglers you see. ( sorry to end on a sort of negative note ) Most all - enjoy your trip! Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
