Members whiskyjack Posted July 6, 2009 Members Posted July 6, 2009 Hey, just checking in from SE Alberta. I have visited Branson quite a few times as I have family there but have never had the opportunity to fish while in the area, trips were too short or too busy. That is going to change next year as I'm planning a fishing vacation to the area. Anyway, I'm a life long fly fisherman with a preference for brookies and cutthroat trout in small mountain streams. Atlantic salmon hold a special place in my fishermans soul as I cut my fly fishing teeth on them in Newfoundland in the mid 70's. Haven't cast a fly for them since 78 though. Someday........ I retired from the Canadian Forces a few years ago after 27 years, am now doing a bit of freelance writing about fly fishing, fly tying, camping and hunting in Alberta. I enjoy hunting upland game, waterfowl, elk, white tail and mule deer as well as fly fishing. Looking forward to hanging out here, Ozarks are a beautiful part of the US, likely why my folks live there now.
tippett7 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Welcome to the forum. I think you will be amazed at how many fish you can catch at Taneycomo.
Danoinark Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Glad to have you here and look forward to your reports. Maybe you could post some fishing trip reports from your area along with pictures. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
DoveTail Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Welcome. Some pics from above the 49th would be great of the mountain streams.

If your planning a trip to the Ozarks to fish, you absolutely must float and fish the Eleven Point. Just got back. Excellent wilderness river, and the trout fishing is good too.
