Mikey
Thinking about making my second trip of the year on Wednesday morning. No sense taking this week of vacation and not hooking some trout. Packing my fly and spinning gear... have yet to get the hang of trout of the fly. I'll start with my fly rod until my temper gets the better of me, then I'll be using my spinner. So expect to see me have the fly rod out just long enough to try and get the fly on my tippet and then I'll grab my spinning rod. Mikey Each time I buy a new fly............ My wife gives me the same look........ I give her when she buys another purse... ..............................
BFTMASTER
Hey Mikey, A little advice for you: Get up very early and get out there, the last month or so, the water has been slow. Get your flies all the way to the bottom. If you don't feel the bottom often, then you are not deep enough. Also, try some grasshopper like flys, a few guys did well the last couple of trips (under trees or near grass). 3rd: Forget about the trout and try for some striper. White grubs and shad looking lures should get some bites in the deeper places. Good Luck and Report back!!
Mikey
I have some micro jigs I picked up the other day, a bead should get them down to the bottom. Also, I picked up a streamer that was on sale a Bass Pro over the weekend, might try it out in the deep water under the dam. I will definitely pack in some grubs just in case tho. Thanks for the tip! On The Fly 6
Where is the Watts area? Ive never been there but hear a lot of people mention it on this forum. How would I find it if im coming from the Vian area? DaddyO
Going from the Powersite Access Road towards Gore, it will be the first Black Top road on the left. Take it all the way to the river and you will run into the Watts area parking lot. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
