Hello from Tennessee, my buddy and I are travelling through Arkansas and Southern Missouri next week on the way out west. I'm looking for some suggestions on walk in areas, thinking the North Fork of the White, maybe somewhere else. I've heard they are generating heavily on both the White and Little Red, I hope I'm wrong ;)

Greetings to all.

If your looking to avoid the tailwaters, the North Fork of the White above the lake from Rainbow Springs to Dawt Mill and the Eleven Point from Greer Spring (A half mile or so above Highway 19) to Riverton are good options for trout fishing on the Missouri side. Of course the White below Bull Shoals, and the North Fork below the lake are always good for a few rainbows too. There are also countless smallie streams around here you could check out.

At the North Fork above the lake, I've heard Blair Bridge and Patrick Bridge are pretty good walk in areas. At the Eleven Point, you can wade to some pretty good trout fishing in the shoal above the Highway 19 Bridge. There are too many accesses to name on the White, but Rim Shoals and White River State Park are a couple you might check out.

Welcome to the forum.

Where are you heading out West (fishing)?

If you are in SW Mo, you may want to look at Roaring River as a back up option if there is big generation on the White and other rivers, or check out the other trout parks also.

Thanks, thats an option too.

First to the Denver for a few days and then up to the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming, www.rockcreekanglers.com

I'm right now eating lunch and sitting on the lower North Fork at James Bridge, got few nice longear sunfish and a little pumpkinseed. We're headed to the next bridge, maybe Blair Bridge.

skunked for the day, baseball in AKC tonight and I'll out west. The North Fork is one of the most beautiful places I've ever fished. Maybe I'll copme home this way too.

Cheers to all the friendly anglers!

My name is Dereck Evans. If you are heading through southeast Missouri I guide on the Current River. It is an excellent smallmouth river with beautiful scenery. I have a jet boat that will easily accomodate two people. I have all the tackle you will need and everything is provided. Give me a call at 573-429-2575.
