If Tranthams on Cestnut Expressway doesn't have any try pet shops that sell reptiles, they use crickets for food and usually sell them as well.

Ealy Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 Yes, pet shops. You evil people.. lol I did some digging today and found out that Lakey's bait shop up by the old "Master Baiter" opens at 5:30 every morning. Crickets are about 4 bucks for 100.

Ealy Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 We bought crickets at Lakey's and they served us well. "100" crickets for 4 dollars. We took home 75 bluegill, but literally could have caught a couple hundred. The bigger bluegills came on nightcrawlers 20-25 feet deep while fishing for walleye. We also kept a 20 inch range walleye and 2 channel cat.
Don Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I didn't know Lakey's had crickets. I bought mine from Tranthams for years. Crickets 10+ feet deep at bridge piers always provided enough good gills for a fish fry. Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
