Tito Degiosio
first off my name is Tito DeGiosio I am currently working for Brain Sloss over at eleven point canoe He has gave me some advice on your river but I am looking for as much info on your waters as I can get before I take my first trip there I plan to spend A few days there once I arrive and will need to rent A canoe as well thats the least of my concerns I would like some advice on what to have with me as far as flies go I assume you have fished the eleven point and from what I understand your river fishes alot like it deep long drifts and deep deep deep as I tell the folks who come here if your not hooking a few rocks and debree your not deep enough just some info on what to bring would be plenty I have a good idea on where I want to concentrate on catching some hogs just want to make sure I have the correct flies for your waters plan on fishing it as soon as the temp. drops and the crowds settle down I like the off season fishing but what would you suggest anytime I have two days off in a row I would like to be on the water fishing so I mostly fish here at the eleven point but I am ready for some change and new challenge gonna go to the barren fork creek as soon as I get the chance because I heard it is a more difficult section well any advice you have to offer is great also I was talking to Brain Sloss the other day about catch and release practice and handling practice as well that there few people who know about about a trouts survival rate after it has been handled to long and there slimy film on them and it's purpose I would like to see more talk about this subject just to inform the ones who don't know so they can understand how delicate these fish really are and practice catch and release and proper handling practice so that they can have many more great memories as well as more trout in our streams thanks Tito DeGiosio & Cydney Siri Pleasnt Valley Cabin and Camping (Home of the fresh baked pies) www.pleasant-valley.biz 970-249-8330
Brian Wise
Hey Tito, You will be suprised how close the rigs we fish on the NFOW and the Eleven Point are. You are exactly right, fish crazy deep...for example yesterday I had a two-fly rig that I had set about 7 feet under an indicator, and the water is NOT high AT ALL. So far as the set-up goes we are really close but what I have noticed is there are probably more fish in the deeper slower sections of the 11 point than there are on the NFOW. We concentrate on the riffles and tailouts mostly but still catch some fish in the slower pools and stuff like that. Targeting big fish will of course change with the seasons. Right now you can target them by throwing streamers at the shadows along the bank or go night fishing. The Fall is going to get the browns moving for a spawning run so in certain ways it makes them easier to target...but harder to find because they don't hang out in one spot for a very long time at all. Need anything else let me know, Brian My Youtube Channel
