I was going to visit a friend who wants to fish Flat Creek, anyone fish this very often, any advice different from other streams. I was probably going to be there around August 15. I would be in canoe and wading and have a 6 weight fly rod I would like to try out as well as my medium spinning outfit. Anyone have any advice for flies. I have read other general posts on stream fishing so if it applies here also sorry.

Thanks,

Chris

I had a lot of luck yesterday jigging an amber tube off the bottom. I think this will work pretty well if the water is as clear as it was yesterday.

I'd float 39 to EE. The creek is low and gin clear. You'll have a great time. Standard smallie fare is all you need. PC

your flies should consist of at least a few hoppers , a few craws , leech imitations , a small white and purple streamer , bumble bees , and poppers.

your lures of choice wiggle wart crawdad imitations or a soft plastic version for the harder to reach places, a good yozuri jerkbait (very small prismatic purple is your best bet) or a rapala of the same size.. a good white / white and green / white and blue / craw color spinner bait... a small soft plastic assortment wouldnt be a bad idea either, small worms , craws, minnows, the pede's , grubs things of that nature .

use light line and cast close to structure.. good luck
