Members wiggle wart Posted July 21, 2009 Members Posted July 21, 2009 My lovely wife and I fished main lake points the other afternoon and evening. Early on there was a moderate breeze blowing across one point and the bass were there in numbers as evident on the depth finder. We caught some fish on crank baits and plastics until dark. Towards dark the activity and wind stopped. Later in the evening the fish no longer showed up on the Humminbird over and around the points. I'm just wondering if anybody would have a guess as to where these fish may have gone. Would they move to the banks to feed or just head out to deeper water? I have a hard time figuring the pattern after dark. Does it take a while for the fish to change into their night pattern? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Members wiggle wart Posted July 21, 2009 Author Members Posted July 21, 2009 If indeed those where bass you saw on your graph earlier, then yes, they most likely moved to the bank under the cover of darkness to seek prey. 90% of the time you can always count on bass cruising the shore line at night. On another note......knowing what the different species of fish look like on a graph is a big plus when one is fishing for a specific fish. Bass, whites, spoonbills, garr, walleye etc ect all have a different appearance on a quality graph. Good question by the way, thanks for asking. Thanks for the helpful and encouraging reply.
