Headed back down to stay @ Lilleys all next week, but haven't seen much on fishing reports other than fishing at the dam or night fishing. Anyone been out in a boat throwin' jigs or such? We usually hit lookout down to Fall Creek pretty good if the water is right. A lot of times we'll have the lovely bikini clad women out chunkin' bait too. (obviously below the creek)

Just wondering what is going on??? This trip should be quite a bit different than our trip last July when they were pouring water out of Table Rock at a crazy rate...

Let me know if you've heard anything good. If it is all bad, don't tell me. I'll figure that out while enjoying the weather, water, women, and cold beer!

Thanks in advance and happy fishin!

I was out on Saturday and Sunday from Lookout on down with the water running in the afternoon for a couple of hours. The fishing was decent through the narrows. Threw a 1/80th oz olive jig and float shallow for awhile with mixed results, but the switched to a 3/32 olive/ginger jig and they loved it. Also threw a sculpin with an orange head for awhile with sporatic results. When the water is off I have been catching alot of numbers around the Pole vault pit and around that hole on the bluff side. Hope this helps, if you wanted any more info let me know!! Good luck out there!!!

It depends on generation. If it is mainly shut off you will have to go to very small jigs or fish bait on the bottom (below fall creek obviously). If they are running water (which I guess they did sat.) you should be fine with 1/8 oz on down depending on water flows. For effective jig fishing you will need to be bouncing off the bottom. Good luck.

Buschman...

Something to remember for the summer time patterns on taneycomo..

Fall creek and above...

water off... small rapalas.. and jig..

running water.. big rapalas and 1/8oz jigs (1/4oz if running 4 units hard)

below fall creek to 65 bridge..

little cloes

jigs

and the little jakes (domino lure).. silver on a cloudy day.. gold on a sunny day

If the are running 2 or more units.. use the larger size..

This little jake also works great down around the Branson Landing in running water..

if you feel daring.... throw some big rapalas toward the stump bank (across from the landing)..

may loose a couple... but I willing to bet there a big in there!!

with all this rain...

we will probably see some high water through the rest of the week....

this is about what they are doing now.... but could see longer hours of running water

as far as bait fishing..

Night crawler on the bottom with running water..

powerbait... 2 units or less.....

Thanks for the information. What size line do you use with the rapalas? Gold and Black?

and the cleos and jakes how do you fish them? I've had limited success on them and it has only been trolling. Need help.

Thx

Are the Little Jakes you mentioned the Spin-A-Lure? I use those a lot, but the interesting thing is my color choice is the exact opposite of yours. From bass fishing with spinnerbaits, gold gives more flash in colored water and cloudy days, silver is flashy in bright conditions. Hum! I don't know if it really matters though, my son uses gold all the time. One thing I use the Spin-A-Lure for is a "locator". I watch the lure on the retrieve, and if there are fish in the area there will be several chasing it even if they don't hit it.

I'll be coming in with son-in-law on the 29th you guys get them checked out for us as we are still rookies, bringing pontoon, don't know if any of rest of family is coming or not at this time, I believe we are in # 14 this time.

We've used power bait up to this point but interested in learning more about using spinners, jigs, etc so maybe can venture up above Fall Creek if water levels permit.

If you want to learn some new methods you might want to start out with some early morning Jig casting up above fall creek. You can watch the fish up there react to how you are working your jig in the shallow water and by the time they start some units up you will have a good idea of how to work them. Just try different retrieves... Big hops short hops.. Let it sit or run it back. When the water is off try dragging it across the bottom darting it every few feet. Year round that is probably my favorite bite. 3/32 or 1/8th oz. sculpin colored. Line is 4lb or 2lb if you can do it. Fluorocarbon or at least lo vis green.
