I came down to do some wade flyfishing on Taney in the mornings and then either boat on Taney for more trout or Table Rock for bass. Because the corps were already running water on Taney at 6 AM, I decided to spend the day on TRock. I fished a football jig with a fat Albert watermellon with red flakes on a main lake point. I caught several short smallies, a large mouth and 2 Kentuckies. I went around the point on the cove side and had the most luck. I caught this beautiful 18 inch smallie. What surprised me was that it was in mid afternoon amoung the wakes and waves of water skiers and boaters. It was a pleasant surprise for me. I can't wait for late September and late October to get down again. My boat was in about 25 to 35 feet of water but the strikes were in about 12 to 20 feet. See you in September and October.
