OzarksRiverman Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I spotted this fish in a small pool right by our campsite Friday evening. Couldn't get this big boy to bite ANYTHING. I finally called it a night and went and turned in, got up early the next morning with one thing on my mind--catching this fish. First I tried a pumpkin seed colored gets-it, it didn't work so I was down to my last bullet, which was a brown soft plastic crawdad that I'd never used. On the first cast that brownie came scootin' across his little pool and hit the crawdad. It was both frustrating and exciting during the time I spent trying to catch this one fish. Not sure about the weight but I marked my pole and it measured 19". (It might look smaller but you gotta keep in mind that I'm 6'7")
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Nice. It can be very exciting to work a fish like that and finally emerge the victor.
