Anyone else using the C&F fly boxes? I just bought one when we were out in CO. My flies were a mess but this box sure seems great. I was able to organize most of my trout flies in one box. I got the one with the slit foam in each end and a leaf in the middle with 2 more sections (4 total).

Kind of pricey ($40) but worth it to me just for the organization and ability to carry fewer boxes.

I've got the same one Greg. I like them. Lightweight too.

I've got 3 of the 1506 boxes (I think that's the number) .... they're probably the same as the one Greg got. Top and bottom slit foam ..... double sided slit foam leaf. I like them a lot. They hold a ton of flies. They're a little bit of a pain to load but anything with slit foam is kind of a pain. They hold flies well and once the flies are engaged, they hold well. PC

I've got it too, its kind of a sampler box for me and I love it. I generally carry that box, tippet material, indicators and shot. Its only weaknesses are not being waterproof and not being good for flies bigger than a 10. Of course as weaknesses go, those are pretty insignificant.

They make another model I'd like that has the interchangeable inserts that allow more versatility regarding fly size.

All in all, they make a great box for minimalists but the price can be a bit prohibitive.

I have 3 of the boxes. They are waterproof. I like them a lot and have a similar complaint about the size of the flies they will hold. They do not hold very many large streamers and it gets cumbersome to carry more than a couple of boxes. Small flies can also be a pain to get in and out of the foam, although one they are in it does a great job of holding them. I have resorted to carrying tweezers when nymphing.

I did order and have received that 20 dollar C&F box from Sierra. It's a nice box. It looks capable of holding bigger flies than my other more expensive one but won't hold as many flies overall. If anyone is interested you might order one while they last.

I've been able to organize my entire fly collection (several hundred) in these 2 C&F boxes. Before that i had them scattered in 9 total boxes. Big improvement for me.

I went ahead and ordered two additional boxes. They also have another C&F box with the clicky compartments and threaders for midges. I could use one of those and a backup 8 row box that my wife can use when she tags along. I will throw all the pink and pretty blue flies she makes me buy in her box.

Sneaky Sierra Trading Post. I ordered two of the boxes. One arrived exactly as I ordered and is the box mentioned in the original post. The second box was not the box that was pictured at the time I placed the order. The box I intended to order had three compartments on one side and rows of foam on the other side. The picture has since changed (see above picture) and now reflects the box I received. The new box is not bad, i just would not have shelled out $20 for it. It is cheaper, not waterproof, and has 8 compartments that are held shut by a tiny magnet. It is still going to work for holding indicators. The magnet is so weak I wouldnt put a bunch of midges in the compartments. I would hate to see it pop open and dump 50 midges into the water.
