Hunter91 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Kind of tough morning for us. We fished from K dock down to the mincy flats. Saw a little white bass action early but no luck. Caught a couple of short walleyes on nightcrawlers and spinner rigs. Then trolled crankbaits for a while and caught a couple more short walleyes, a 14 in crappie, a 10 inch yellow perch, a short smallie and 1 keeper white. Most of the fish we did find were between 22 and 27ft.
Sam Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 We had a tough time there too, in the late afternoon before dark. On Sunday, there were white bass boiling up everywhere and we got easy limits. It didn't happen today - we ended up with only 4 white bass and 1 perch. I thought I really had something going there on white bass, then things change for no apparent reason. That's fishing, and it may be good again next time.
rangerman Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Have you guys been down by Lead HIll. There were ALOT of whites hanging on the east side of the flats. They would drive you crazy while you were trying to catch walleye. Apparently Martin found them there as well. so they have got to be staying around the immediate area.
Hunter91 Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 I was down there last weekend and wore out the walleyes but we only saw a few whites surfacing. Gonna try it again this weekend at some point. I love catching and eating walleye but you are right it would be tough to keep walleye fishing while the whites are busting.
