I couldn't get down this weekend, but was curious how the drawdown was affecting the fishing......It is getting to be an annual event!!

From what I have heard from you lake fisherman.....;)......the drawdown has caused some crazy temp fluctuations. Looks like they are pretty close to leveling....so the 24/7 stuff should be slowing.

Don't know what the drawdown has done to Beaver, but as far as I am concerned, you can have your water back. Here at Holiday Island, the cold water and rise changed all the patterns.

Does anyone besides me think it a bit unbelieveable that the perfect time to draw down Beaver just happened to be when electricity would sell for the most?

Fishing seemed a little bit tough this weekend...got bait and fished for about an hour Saturday evening by the dam; broke off one big one. Caught 4 over by point 3 this morning first thing, biggest was 12. We were in fish all morning with perfect bait and couldn't get more action after about he first hour of light. I think the combo of the lake drawdown, moonphase, etc made it tough? The guides weren't doing great either...saw a couple guys trolling pick up a fish or two. There are scattered pockets of shad EVERYWHERE. Hopefully it will stay hot and bunch them up tight in the next few days.

We are going to be down the 16th-23rd this month so hopefully things will pick up!

Over the last week, I fished Beaver Sat/Sun/Tues/Thurs/Friday (morning and evening) and Sun. I live at the lake, so easy to go put in for a couple of hours before work. I'm not sure if it's the water temps going up 4+ degrees over that time from the warm week last week, or if it's the drawdown, but the fishing for sure got tougher from Thursday on. I really feel it's the temps more than the drawdown, since the drawdown has been going on for more than a week.

We fished from 5am to Noon yesterday, caught 4, only 2 legals (1 Kentucky and 1 LM).

I've lived here 4 years now and I'm not sure what normal pool is, so it'll be interesting to see what it is when it gets there. I've seen the lake level fluctuate at least 20' in 4 years. First 2 years, it was WAY down. Several big multi-boat docks on the dirt the 2nd year, at least near where I live, in the Prairie Creek area.

It was down more this morning though, that's for sure. But the rain we got Monday cooled the water down a couple of degrees and they were on the bite again. Caught some nice fish today.

What were you fishing for today? Dad and I are going to be down the 15th-22nd out of Lost Bridge South. I hope they stay turned on! Has anyone heard any striped bass reports?

Black bass. Carolina rigs, points tapering into deeper water. The fish seemed to be at about 20'.

White bass were running a bit this morning, too. I caught a couple on a pop-r just for grins.

Striper fishing has been tough on Beaver the past few days it seems -- The weather sure has been beautiful though.

We did get 7 on Saturday morning around pt 3 -- Fished Monday morning and evening and only caught a couple small fish, and one fish on Tues morning. caught 2 this morning. All the guides we talk to have been having a rough go of it as well. Weather? Drawdown? All the fish we have caught have had EMPTY stomachs. They have to eat sometime you would think....right place right time. There are shad EVERYWHERE.

We are thinking about heading east to Norfork for the coming weekend.
