Got to the water at 8:30pm and they had changed from 3 units to 2 at 8pm. Started up by the cable and waded out about knee deep and was using a #6 olive pine squirrel with a tungsten cone head and caught this sweet brown on the 3rd cast. It was quite a fight in the current and I had a hard time getting him out of it. I don't have to tell you the size if you own a dip net. The water went to 0 units at 9pm and I switched over to the red leach pattern that Michael uses and caught probably 10. I caught a nice bow the same size as the brown but no pic as they were bitting good and I was waist deep. They quit bitting after the water fell out so I took a break and went down to the rebar about 2am. Only did fair down there on down to the big hole. I haven't been down to the big hole in a long time but it seems the deeper water has moved downstream quite a bit?

Thanks again Michael for showing me what to use, I had fun tying them and better yet catching with them. Picture quality not the best but I was in a hurry to get him back in the water after a long fight.

What happened to the PMS????

Oh I still love that PMS..... The PMS and pine squirrel are still my two favorite and I am eternally grateful to Leonard for showing/giving me both. For some reason I struggle with both of those in bright moonlight though (Leonard could probably explain that). I am also grateful to everybody on here that writes and shares as I have learned so much from all of you. I was totally ignorant before reading this forum and then meeting some of you. I still remember running into Leonard one night and when I realized who he was telling him that I had a million questions for him. I went from literally 2 fish a night to that night catching about 30 (pine squirrel). I never owned a fly rod until a year and a half ago and now I have my dad hooked and we spend awesome times together there. Being 50+ that means more to me than the biggest fish in the water....although I do want to catch it!

the PMS may not produce 100 little fish in one night..

But the fish that does hit it .. hits them HARD AS HELL...

..

I was there friday night.. and the PMS was a good fly.. most fish we caught on the PMS was in the 16-19in range (about 20 total)...

we fished the big hole.. with the hibernator... catching about 20 or so.. in the 13-16in range..

moved to the flats.. not much happening there.. so we crossed and caught a few nice ones from the cable down.. (ON THE PMS!)

then we went to below KOA down just past the flats there.. and caught a bunch more..

once we figured out how they want it.. it was non-stop..

VERY AWESOME NIGHT!!

if you stripped it fast enough.. you would see the swirl the top of the water and miss it.... then they would "wake" in behind it.. and when you paused for a second.... they would SLAM IT.. nearly taking your rod out of your hands...

we had 2 fish that literly came about 2 feet out of the water taking the PMS... maybe not big high numbers for 3 guys (about 60 fish total).... But watching the fish reaction to the flies was COOL enough..

Gary..

I think we were the 3 guy across stream from you up by outlet 1 to the cable...

Leonard

** sorry for the late report**

Try to get ready to send the kids back to school
