RSBreth Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 That spot (right near the T intersection of Riverside and Green Bridge Road) is commonly used by bank fishers, but access for putting in any watercraft is rough, to say the least. I've parked there after dropping my canoe right at the little chain fence that marks the end of Riversides property, then dragged the canoe throught the poison ivy to put in on the softer gravel bank on Riverside's property a few years back, but the bank-side brush has grown quite a bit since then, and the gravel bank isn't the same, either. It would be nice to have access right there, but it just isn't happening, and it only takes a little time to paddle up from the park anyway.
OzarksRiverman Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Have you guys had any luck at that spot just above the park where the river starts to open up and there's all of those lily pads? I haven't been up there in a couple summers but I used to slay 'em right there (jerking a hula grub like a frog). My parents had a place at Linden and my cousin and I would float from there to the park all the time. There were always a bunch of logjams but the fishing was good.
Daveinozark Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 yeah RS knows where I'm talking about. i've got a 2man inflatable so I'm going to give it a go tomorrow morning and let you know. Hopefully I don't come back to a ticket on the windshield...

Hopefully I don't come back to a ticket on the windshield... I went to that spot a couple mornings this weekend. It would be rough to try and get a canoe in through that spot like RS says. It worked well for me and my inflatable though. It was a nice spot to fish, but didn't catch too much except that it was very cool on the mornings I went so the fish weren't out in the middle of the river. I caught a few along shores but spent most of my time putzing around in the boat. pretty spot though. anyone know how the finley is past the jeep dealership? I was wondering if it opens up past that stream intersection there to the 65. the area at the 65 looks pretty wide
RSBreth Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 The stretch from Heritage down to 65 is actually mostly shallow. I live right by it but rarely fish it. It's getting hit hard by all the people who walk along the new trail. I need to send you a P.M. sometime this week with a couple of spots to try out that inflatable.

The lake is full of fish, both Largemouth and Smallies. Horney Toad, Sinko, and a small red finese worm. Thats all you will need. On a weekday night you should be the only one there, unless theres some yoakles shooting there guns across the river

Guess that would work. That spot does look like a hang-out, is it pretty rough? RS - I shot you a PM

Just lock your doors when you leave, i have never had any problems. Just dont offer anyone any hard candy cause half of them would beable to chew it The awesome fishing far outways any okward situations.
