Ozark Flyfishers have an outing at Montauk Aug. 21-23. Sheila and i will be staying at Eagles Park slot 3 in our pop-up. Will be fishing Fri-Sun. Anyone else going? B)

Fishing was tough in the park, water was crystal clear and slow moving in the fly area. Caught fish but really had to work at it. Switch up flies often, rarely caught more than one fish without switching flies. caught fish on griffiths gnat, red zebra midge with black ribbing, pheasant tail nymph, red copper john, white thread jig, deer hair caddis, and adams dry fly. Only fished the fly area in the park. Went outside the park and caught a nice 17 inch bow, on a deer hair caddis, midday. :D

What size of flies were you using? ... from what I have been reading the smaller the better.

Novice Fly fisher.

small dry flies 18-22, larger nymphs 14-16

Some guy I talked to said 18 tricos, didnt have any trico dries, 20 griffiths gnat fooled some of them into biting.
