Randall Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 well, i went down on thursday and had pretty much the whole fly only section to myself. fish were rising like crazy and absolutely loved the white crackleback i was throwing. whatever was hatching looked pretty similar to cracklebacks, i have no clue what they were though. it was a pretty short day, but plenty of fish, including three browns and a real nice rainbow from the c&r area. one thing i noticed was that i could barely catch anything on nymphs and midges for some reason. Cute animals taste better.
mcp633 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Thanks for the info. I'm going down with our guys weekend crew on Friday. Certainly will make sure the cracklebacks are in my box. We'll be on loop 4 in the sites next to the main road, accross from the bath house. My rig is a Coachmen Clipper with teal canvas. Stop on by if any of you guys are around. I'll be the one with two beers in my hand . Only get a couple of chances a year to get out with some good people for good fishing without my wife around. Got to make the most out of it, ya know. If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
Randall Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 the ones i used were white bodies, size 16 i think. wish i was gonna be down there, but i got a thesis proposal, a ten pager, and an art history project due before the end of next week. catch a fish and drink a beer or three for me. Cute animals taste better.
mcp633 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Randall, Sorry to hear about the paper. I'll be sure to pack a couple extra away for ya. Both fish and beer. Kyle If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
