RSBreth Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I was going to buy a certain type of jighead at Bass Pro Saturday morning early, only to discover they are re-modeling the entire fishing section. All of it. Extreme outdoor store makeover style. Fly shop is still open, but if you were going to go there and pick something up, you are out of luck.
Members LB DRY FLY Posted August 19, 2009 Members Posted August 19, 2009 The new fishing section is open and fully stocked. It is on the back side of the boat showroom. They fly shop will be moving there shortly. Poor signs in the store to explain the makeover.
tippett7 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I love Bass Pro just as much as the next guy, but I want to put in a plug for our local shops. If you are headed down here for vacation or you live here, save yourself some money and go to the 4 local fly shops in town. A lot cheaper option and much better info from the owners.
RSBreth Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Yeah, but they don't have Booyah Baby Boo Bass jig heads in 3/16 ounce. I did not see the signs. I have to go back over there. Darn. I'll look at shotguns when I'm over there, too.
Trevor K Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I stopped there on the way down to taney a couple weeks ago and was very frustrated by all the construction too. I still found what I was looking for and still enjoyed eating at the hemmingways buffet. i don't ever buy much there anyways. i'd rather go to an actual fly shop. nobody that i've ever talked to at the bass pros or cabelas fly shop has ever been much help anyway.
bigredbirdfan Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I prefer to not pay the 10% sales tax here in town so I mail order my stuff.
Zack Hoyt Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Just in case you really dont want to look at the shot guns........ http://www.lurenet.com/productdetail.aspx?id=bybbj3612 Yeah, but they don't have Booyah Baby Boo Bass jig heads in 3/16 ounce. I did not see the signs. I have to go back over there. Darn. I'll look at shotguns when I'm over there, too. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
Whack'emGood Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I prefer to not pay the 10% sales tax here in town so I mail order my stuff. Doesn't the shipping charge more than offset the tax savings? Or do you have a tackle supplier that gives free shipping? I would be interested to learn of one. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
RSBreth Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 Shipping is more than tax for a couple of jigheads, and I always want to look at shotguns!
