Members mahto Posted September 2, 2009 Members Posted September 2, 2009 Been really good fishing in the hole behind the house, especially right at dusk. SIL caught several last night in the 12-14" range and then finished off with a BM that weighed in at a little over 4lbs...what a great fish . He was using a dark, bottom-colored craw. I have been having good luck fishing a 6" senko-type, mossy green wacky worm. Last night caught 7 SM ranging from 12-14", with the biggest going just over 16". Water here is scary clear right now (just down from Shady), but wade fishing has been solid. Sorry, no pictures. I'm challenged that way. Lovin' creek livin'. Mahto

Members mahto Posted September 2, 2009 Author Members Posted September 2, 2009 We've been floating some, mostly late Sundays after the river settles down. Seem to catch several fish, but "speed" past a lot of likely looking cover. I have much better control over my "presentation" (haha) when I wade. I tried a small buzz bait one foggy morning with NO results...gonna have to get it back out. I'm trying to figure out good colors, but obviously need more experience/practice/education. Always enjoy reading your posts, look forward to meeting you. Mahto
Members smallmouth61 Posted September 7, 2009 Members Posted September 7, 2009 We had a great day out there today. Floated about six miles and we caught about 22 SM between the 2 of us. I started out with a 4" amber tube and really didn't switch much from it all day- just to a craw colored crankbait in deep water that didnt yield any results. then we still had a while till dark so we drove over to the little sugar and waded and each caught 4 more- including a 17" LM that proved to be the biggest fish of the day. It was a gorgeous day to be out and a good day of fishing!
Members mahto Posted September 8, 2009 Author Members Posted September 8, 2009 I went down behind the house Sunday evening about 7:30 and fished for a couple of hours. Caught several fish, and most of good size. BM @ 18", SM @ 17", 15", and several 12-14". Just drifting a wacky worm in the current mostly. Conditions were just about ideal for my kind of fishing.
