Members wanabeflyer Posted September 3, 2009 Members Posted September 3, 2009 Spavinaw Creek is in the same genereal area of the state as the Spring and Neosho River, NE Oklahoma, and I was wondering if anyone has fished this area, especially the middel part of Spavinaw Creek, between Lakes Eucha and Spavinaw. I have heard of good smallmouth action but not sure where to go. Thanks.
rps Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 The only times I have fished that section is when I drove a boat from the lake as far up river as I could and then got out. Worked great for white bass.
chub minnow Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Only know about the upper part in Arkansas - great smallies and the occasional slab rainbow. Beautiful little stream up there.
Members FlyfishinOK Posted January 12, 2012 Members Posted January 12, 2012 We dropped some kayaks in on Beaty creek behind Piney Church last summer. Floated (and dragged a bit) down to the confluence of Spavinaw creek and on down to the top of lake Eucha. We got into some nice smallies and caught some red horse on the fly. One of the guys in our group had floated between Eucha and Spavinaw the week before and said the fishing was pretty good.
Bird Watcher Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Supposedly, there are starting to be quite a few walleye in that stretch. Look on ODWC's website at the historical stockings of walleye in Lake Spavinaw in the last 5 years
