ozark trout fisher Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Rebel you might try a Hula Popper. I'm confused. Do you mean for trout? If so, that's a new one on me. I was down there a bit ago and just killed them on 1/24 ounce roostertails with a small split shot a foot ahead, (trout I mean).
Guest csfishinfool Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Am planning a trip down to the 11 Point in a couple weeks from the north (Greer to Riverton). Anyone have any input on what the fish have been hittin on lately besides flies? I was down two weeks ago. I limited on saturday, on a small jerkbait. But they were hard to come by. My buddy caught more than I could count on a black panther martin, and a black hair jig. The biggest was six pounds caught about two miles past whitten. My biggest was around 18 inches, ill post a pic when my internet isn't screwin up. all of the bigger fish were in fast water. I caught all of my fish where two currents came together, but im sure that kind of stuff changes day to day. All in all it was a great trip. Oh by the way the waters cold
Brian Sloss Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Your namesake (rebel crawdads) are always a good bet here as well as inline spinners as mentioned above. Be sure to use deep divers and heavy spinners (or add shot, as mentioned) because the fish down here stay deep. Good luck.
