Walleyes love bullheads! Well, at least the little ones. I don’t know how many walleyes I have cut open to finds their stomachs just stuffed full of them. MN is plagued with bullheads. If not for the walleye and the mung, (people from Laos) there would be no hope of controlling them.

The Mung will eat anything. When they fish an area they catch everything. When their done not even the birds come any more! LOL I’m not kidding. These people are natural born fishermen. Even the kids can out fish the average white man! LOL Their families are huge. 20 people can live in a closet. When they go fishing they descend like locus on a field. We should use them as a secrete weapon to control the things we don’t want like bullheads, zebra muscles, those flying carp things, regular carp and so on. They shouldn’t even have to buy a fishing license. Stunted lakes should be designated mung fishing lakes only until they clean them out so that they can be restocked. The Mung could be a valuable resource if handled properly. And no, I’m not insulting them. They wouldn’t think their being insulted by this. They would think we were being stupid by just letting them have all they wanted. They just have a different taste for food than we do and they don’t waste things

Speaking of an earlier post I made here about the James and Finley rivers, does anyone know of some spots to catch crappie out of these rivers?

Thanks crappiemagnet,

You’re my only friend! LOL Have you seen my pet mosquito? That buzzard bite through the chain and got away just right before I moved down here.LOL Say hi to the twin cities for me. I miss the crappie fishing there. I never thought I’d ever see a land so barren of crappie as SW MO. Yeah, if I ever find any crappies I’ll check the rules and see what they say. I’ve got all winter to do it. So far I’ve only gotten one good lead on where I can find some close. But it’s only a general area. Did they ever finish the repairs and reopen the Coon Rapids Dam on the Mississippi?

Honestly the only mosquito's I've seen all summer/fall has been in NW Wisconsin....lol

As far as the Coon Rapids Dam goes...I think they should just put some TNT to it.

Where did you live up here?Andover?

Sorry for being a little sarcastic in my last post 1960.

Buckshot,

There are enough good crappie just about anywhere you fish. The 2 black crappie were caught this spring on Finley from the same structure on consecutive casts. It had wood and water and there was a snake on a tree that was lying next to the split after the riffle before the waterfall  .

The 3rd crappie is just to make your mouth water. I caught it at LOZ this spring.

Good luck,

OzarkFishman

PS - I stared at your avatar CrappieMagnet and nothing happened ... whats up with that  .

Crappiemagnet,

I lived in N. MPLS until over run…….. then No Hope (new hope), Brooklyn park, Mounds View and three or four other places for short periods of time. I fished about a 10 mile stretch of the Mississippi that included the dam. If you eat the fish (which I did not) pay attention to the PCB’S. But if you just like to fish any of the locks will hold crappie, smallmouth and catfish…..plus! Here’s a tip from your uncle Earl since you’re not that far from the dam. Fishing above and just below the dam can produce fish, but it is often more a disappointment than not due to the fishing pressure it receives. Here’s what you do, In the middle of the darn just below there is an island that you can get on by foot. Go to the very end of it and look for large trees that have been washed up along the shore. These trees will come and go with the rise and fall of thee river so there not always there. If you find no trees get in your car and leave. If you do find one it will (do to the lay of the land) be lodged out in the water and you will have to wade to it. Ease up to the tree and climb on, give it a minute or two for any spooked off fish to calm down and return. Then drop your tub jigs straight down and work both sides of the tree. Then get ready to be surprised. Many a time I have caught my limit using this tactic with fish running from ¼ to 1 lb. If nothing else it’s worth it for the looks on the other fishermen’s faces as you pass back over the dam on the way to your car! Remember, always show your humility to the other fishermen who haven’t caught anything along your way by allowing them to kiss your ring and lick the mud from your shoes! LOL And never let them know how you did it! (RIGHT GUYS?) It’s the American way! (You B*s*urds) LOL

Now, now fishingcricket,

You know you’re my only friend! However, I’m just trying to keep it real! Your fish have downsyndrom! LOL Chances are I will be personally breeding with the crappie I put in the pond so I can’t be polluting the genes of my offspring now can I? LOL If all my children have hair lips I’ll never be able to set the hook and catch anything! LOL Please feel free to post the pic’s of the crappie you catch! I need all the porn I can get! LOL
