Had A great Time Today At both locations browns are on the move with nice sizes being caught only caught one rainbow nothing to talk about.

but did see many nice size trout (mostly brown ) and few nice size rainbows

water was low and clear... light tippet needed I used 6x cause thats the smallest I had I would even use something smaller If I had it t

fly choice a prince nymph (never used this fly here before today) worked for me till I lost it to the jaws of a nice brown

Oh well at least I got to get a fight out of him before he decide to run off into the deep green pool

the fish today were high flyers with three coming clean out of the water and one to come as high as around five feet that one broke me off when he slaped the water never had one come as high as this fish that fish made the hall of fame for air in my books

only took two pictures nothing real big compared to the fish I saw swimming

Post pictures later !!!

I think I saw you after I got off the water, talking to a buddy of mine named Derek in a red Chevy. Glad somebody did some good... I couldn't make anything happen, almost like I forgot how to fish.

Cute animals taste better.

Great job. I wish I could get back to the Current. The river was very low and clear a few weeks ago. Itching to get back.

Yeah, that was me. The conditions were less than optimal but I was off my game. Chalk it up to paying dues.

Do you fish current often I would like to fish it more but It can be alittle more fun to fish with someone else if you are ever thinking of heading that way again

send me a mesage I'll be glad to meet you there and fish with ya thats if I'm off work of course but this time of the year can be slow at the Canoe rental

And fishing is always on my mind It's about a two hour drive for me

same goes for anyone else who just may read this I don't have many people to fish with and when they can fish.. I can't .

so time to meet some new trout lovers alike and meet up and fish

I'll definitely let you know next time I head down there. I'm in grad school in KC so I don't get to fish that much anymore. Probably be the week of Thanksgiving next time I'm down that way.

Sounds good to me. My fishing time has also been limited, but the Current is a great stream in Sept/Oct, even into November.

Did you use any streamers on the Current? I've been experimenting on size, style and color and haven't really found a solution. A lot of guys have told me that it's not a 'streamer river' meaning the trout go more for midges, nymphs, soft hackles etc., and of course tricos and caddis when the activity is on.

I've had a lot of fast turns/follows and a few hits. I've lost a few 16"-18" browns on various streamers. I've also caught my largest brown on the Current with a streamer. Guess I'm sprung on this technique because of the visible strikes/turns/follows, and, a few hook ups. Another guy told me I should work on the strip-strike to set the hook.
