Greg Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Can I ask if you were fishing at night? I've never used a bucktail streamer. That's pretty cool to me that an old time pattern like the mickey finn still works. I'll have to give it a try. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 We were fishing during the day. It was just after noon and was overcast. That was the first time I'd tried the Mickey Finn and had a blast with it. I'll be using it more now. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Brian K. Shaffer Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 This is a fantastic night fly.. easy to cast and even easier to hook up to fish while throwing it. Look up the S. Platter Special too! You guys should also fisn the Hornberg and the Muddler, as drier night flies. best fishes - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
