loo10 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Are the crappies on the banks up there? I saw the MDC report last week and your water temps were HIGH. I like to come up when they're right on the banks 1-2' deep. Jeez....Have I already missed it?? Members jcmojo Posted April 27, 2006 Members Posted April 27, 2006 I talked to a fellow today that had done pretty good at MT last friday. He said they caught several 10-11 inch black males up close to the banks. You can check out the latest report at: http://southforkresort.net/Information/fishing_report.htm I'm pretty sure the owner of South Fork Resort puts out the fishing report. A friend of mine calls him sometimes for up to date info. The numbers he has listed are: 866-382-0033 (toll free) and 573-565-3500 He has a nice resort there, and prices are resonable. I have stayed there in the past. Nice people and they cater to fisherman. Wish I could tell you more, but I haven't been up there this spring. Good luck if you go.
riverrat Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hello Loo10- I don't know why you would want a crappie report from me. I don't know anything about fishing for crappie and I've never been to Mark Twain Lake. I do have a suggestion that might help though. There is a member of this forum who is a crappie guide on Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain, but he hasn't posted any reports on this forum. He used to post reports on conservation cafe. email him and ask him if he would post reports on this site-it can't hurt his business. His email address is b Carpenter@HAFMO.org.
Members phins Posted April 28, 2006 Members Posted April 28, 2006 Fishing was above average on 4-27. Minnows at 2 to 3'. Jigs were fair using chartreuse and red but you had to swim the jig in structure not just bob it. Nice fish though from 11 to 13". Took 3 of us 4 hours to get the limits. Good Luck.
