Tough going for my fishing bud and me. He got skunked on Thursday, his first time on the Current for that. On Friday we worked down from Baptist. I tried various small streamers and only got a few turns/short follows, nothing of size. My friend caught only two, and one was on for only 2-3 seconds, but he was a big brown, 18"+ and bright gold. He was pissed to lose that fish. We took a break at midday and worked up from Tan Vat. He caught another 12" brown. I was in the deepish run above the boulders and hooked a 12" 'bow on a zebra Copper John, when my partner yelled at me. His rod was bent over and he was being led downstream. I release my fish and hustled down with my net. He brought a fat 16"-17" brown to the net on a Pheasant Tail. That kinda made up for losing the big one earlier. He caught 4 that day, and I managed 3. The fishing would pick up when the weather would warm, then slow down when it would cloud over, rain, and get chilly windy. It will probably be much better today and early in the week, when I can't fish...
