Went down today to take a look. Could have launched, but there was a boat dock in the middle of the road at the waters edge. Anybody know anything about this?

naru, were you on Yocum Creek road off of M, or were you down Brass Lantern road off of KK?

Sam, the lake shot up 4 feet to 674 in the last day or so... I'm thinking K is viable (?) If not I'm gonna head over to State Park tomorrow I reckon.

Wow, 674 with an influx of cold, muddy water. That's tough. I think my fishing is done for awhile, I'm tuning up for deer hunting now. Maybe later on we'll find the elusive Bull Shoals crappie in brush at the edges of flats in 20 feet like last winter - I hope so. Come to think of it, 20 ft. right now would be the edge of the land bushes at the normal shoreline. They'll have so much brush to hide in it'll be hard to find a crappie.

If naru was at Yocum Creek, that must be one of the little docks just to the right that they've pulled over onto the road for some reason. Bummer - the way that road makes the last narrow bend through the woods down to the beach, a dock in the way would keep you from launching at all in high water.

Forsythian, why don't you try that new launch ramp at the end of MM instead of K Dock? The way it looked from the lake, high water wouldn't be any problem there. The new one just won't work in low water, 'cause at 653 it's only 3 feet deep all around it.

Dont go in MM unless u have 4wheel drive, the rock they put in the new ramp area and parking lot is loose and deep.

Forsythian,

I was in Yocum Creek off of M Hwy.

OK, I wonder if that'll pack down and make a hard surface eventually. Hope so.

With my light boat and 4wd, I don't think I'd have a problem with it - but a lot of rigs sure would. I guess I'll always have a good parking place when I go out of there.

Put in at Empire today and messed around for a while on lower Taneycomo... I'm not a big fan of that water, but I needed a quick boating fix.

I'll probably take a drive this week and check out K and MM.

Another foot or two and the Shadowrock ramp will be gone. What a mess.

:) Hey Lonnie, I was going to look around the Kirbyville/ Mildred area (K and MM), probably won't get down to Cedar Creek this week (M and KK). Weird coincidence, I never made the connection 'till just now!

Ken

On a serious note, I'm going to guess Elbow is out on the Cedar Creek side... water's probably too high. Elbow on the Protem side ought to be okay though.
