Not a bunch of fish today but that didn't matter. After all the rain we've had it was just nice to be on the river. I didn't catch many but the ones I did catch were fat and full of fight. The red and copper Zebra midge was the hot fly again. This time I was using the TFO Finesse 8'9" 4WT and 6X. I did notice another big brown in the run I fish and another fisherman came by and said he saw a male and a hen brown in the mid 20" range that were looking like they were starting to build a red. A couple of the rainbows I had caught were dumping milt as soon as I got them to hand. The last fish of the day for me was a surprise. The way the fish hit and fought I thought I had a nice brown on. It just stayed deep in the water and made some decent runs without showing itself. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very bright red band on the fish's side and bright red gill plates. The fish was either in the low end of the slot or just short of the slot, probably a 15" fish.

Not much generation "scheduled" for tomorrow so I'm going to try to get at them again. I don't expect to see much generation until the down stream areas drop out of flood stage. Of course now saying that I probably just jinxed us.

I went to buy batteries but they weren't included.
