Members troutlinks Posted November 10, 2009 Members Posted November 10, 2009 Hi, I am new to this forum and website and also to flyfishing. I plan to make it down to fish the Current river this weekend and could use some advice. What part of the river, baptist, tan vat, etc. would you recommend for locating decent browns and what type of flys would give me the best shot at catching them? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks, Mike Mertens

Thanks, Mike Mertens I would definitely wear bright orange if I were fishing this weekend. I would also start fishing just below the park at the cable crossing and continue downstream to Tan Vat. Loads of fish to be had on glo-balls fished deep.

Thanks, Mike Mertens Baptist or Tan Vat are fine. Glo bugs, scuds, and beadhead nymphs (prince, hare's ear, pheasant tail #14 to18) bounced right along the bottom are about all ya need. Oh yeah, I'd make sure I had some san Juans too. Keep your glo-bugs like your outer layer of clothing this week: Orange.
Members troutlinks Posted November 13, 2009 Author Members Posted November 13, 2009 Thanks for the advice. Hopefully we will catch fish this weekend. If not, any day on the water is good!
