Went fishing on Springfield lake Friday night and Saturday night. Got five all together 3 to 9 lb it was great. That was the biggest I ever got on Springfield. Most of the time me and my girlfriend can get our limit in about 3 to 4 hours. They are full of eggs guess it's the warm water. Only got five for two days but it was better than what most people get by the dam. It helps if u are in a boat. It's getting to cold for the girlfriend to fish I might need a buddy sometime :D

I'm not sure, I thought that it was only Fellows, Stockton and Mcdanails. Besides thats not saying much, Mcdanials two years ago when it was frozen over I seen like 50 beer bottles thrown onto the ice as well as two things of gallon jugs of wood stain that had leaked out all over the ice, pretty horrible. Off the subject but I called city utilities and asked them why boats were not allowed on the lake and they said " no gas motors or boats because the water is for drinking" i told them about the crap that had been thrown in, and suggested maybe if they make it a park like fellows it wouldn't be a place to dump random dung....No response to that. But in good light Fellows, Mcdanails, and springfield lake have a good population of fish. Ive seen some absalute monsters come out of Mcdanials.

no actually springfield lake has never been our water supply and further more there was a eccoli warning on it and the finley ..

I believe that warning and boil order for its watershed is over but being within 2-3 yrs ago you can imagine larger fish all having some form of pollution in them.

Yup that Finley water ha ha ha. Just try to fish in that sucker. Iv caught a few but they ran out of the water and up a tree and i haven't found them yet.

I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.

I'm not sure what effect E-Coli might have on fish, but it shows up on occasion and its always after the fact. On the other hand I would think that between the power plant and what is not removed from the sewer waters, along with the ever present leaky septic tanks it wouldn't be a good idea to overdue eating any fish from the system.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I believe there are some studies that show e-coli can live in the intestines of some fish. Carp, suckers, bottom feeding fish. I would think that they couldn't reach the actual flesh of the fish but I'm not to sure on that one. There is no fear from pathogens if you thoroughly cook the meat and you avoid cutting into the intestine. I feel it's like smoking, if you want to eat fish out of The James or The Finley that's your business.
