Samkam1 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Fished most of the day Friday -- caught fish pretty much start to finish. We couldnt even get all the lines in the water and had a triple on first thing. Makes up for the times we go out and dont catch any!! Fished in the prarie creek, coose, and ventris area again. Most of the fish came on shad with planer boards and 1/4 ounce weight...diving 10 feet or less. The fish were ON FIRE!!! Ended up getting 17 stripers and 2 nice hybrids. The stripers ranged from 12-18lbs. There was a little bit of topwater action, didnt get any hook ups on top though. Get out there if you can!!! Here is a pic of the limit we kept -- Ill post a video as well when I get it edited. Good fishing and happy holidays! SK
Martin Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Wow....Great catch SamKam.....!! Will watch for the video.
jay bird Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I was so close to going out on Friday. I wonder which way the topwater action is going is it just getting started or near the end?
Bman Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Wow! Great report. I've just gotta do that. Anyone ever catch those on a fly rod? The only good line is a tight line
jeb Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Very nice! I just dropped my boat off at the Skeeter factory in Texas today for some warranty work, so won't be able to take advantage of the info, unfortunately. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Members fishofexcellence Posted December 2, 2009 Members Posted December 2, 2009 Just starting, should stay up until water temp drops below 47. Seems like lake went thru a little slump, glad to here good fish are being caught again. Having a little action up here between the Dam & 5 with the birds. We got the gulls up here with less bait, fishing around them will drive you crazy. You mark bait 10-20 ft deep, but 80% of the time no fish. Whats up with the Loons ? Their with the Gulls. Instead of Stripers pushing the bait up its Loons. Were a few fish caught in the area, but Fri was slow. Sat most boats were gone. Hearing a lot of good reports from Ventras to up River. Guess im heading back that way. Any body have any water temp reports on 12 bridge area & up Rivers. We were 57 up here on Sat.

jeb Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Cool! That's very near to where I live. I don't fish for stripers, but that sure looks like a fun day for sure. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
