troutgnat Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Phil, Bill or anyone else?, I haven't heard anything recently of the map situation. Anyone know anything?, Is it done, in progress, or what? Just curious...................D Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 That may be a big job. I would think it hard to get away from, wade below the dam, anywhere down to the 65 bridge from a boat, and the docks at Cooper Creek, Rockaway and Empire. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Gatorjet Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I don't really see why a hotspots map of Taney would be necessary. With the excellent maps and tips provided by Phil on the upper portion, and common knnowledge of below Fall Creek, Short Creek, in front of Lilleys, Cooper Creek, Monkey Island, the Bridges, The Landing. There are a couple other favorites of mine, but I don't want to see them on a Hotspots map! Real men go propless!
troutgnat Posted December 10, 2009 Author Posted December 10, 2009 Gentlemen, I personally don't need the map either. I am just following up on a previous post I saw on here. Both Bill and Phil had acknowledged that they were or had contributed info to this. I am curious to know what came about it. Phil, would you like to answer this??? Members mo_bowhunter Posted December 29, 2009 Members Posted December 29, 2009 This is a little off topic in regards to a Hot Spots Map of Taney - but what about a good topo map from Map Create 7 or something along those lines. This would be a GPS type map showing the depths and structure of the lake to some detail. Finding the hot spots takes time on the water with a rod in your hand. I would bet there would be plenty of interest for a electronice topo map that could be uploaded in a Lowrance type GPS unit - marking the lower unit dangers, large boulders, main channels, etc. I thought this was in the works a couple years ago... Thoughts?
