Members Dogtown65 Posted December 30, 2009 Members Posted December 30, 2009 There is a Low Water Bridge down stream from Spfd. Lake ? I guess I have never been down that far. If it is a "bridge", there must be a road to get there. Any Ideas ? If you go past the Power Plant and turn right on the first road past, I know there is river frontage there over the rail road tracks, or is that past the low water bridge. Sounds like a good "recon" expedition when it warms up some. There was an "access" in that nice neighborhood by that old golf course maybe "Silers's" when I waws a kid. We walked through some nice home's back yards and hopped a couple of barbed wire fences and there was a "great fishing hole. That has been close to 20 years ago. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Thanks.........taco (call sign)
Members MoJohn Posted December 30, 2009 Members Posted December 30, 2009 There is a trail that leads from the Dam down to the Bridge. I was down there last Monday and caught alot of 12-14" LM on a Nickle Super Duper and a Lindy Jig Spinner rigged with a 1/4 oz wht jig with pumpkin craw on it. The road that is there to my knowledge is controlled by the city and only accessable by city employees. It's not that bad of a walk and there are lots of fishing spots along the trail to hit. Also since the water was back down I came home with 8 jigs, 5 spinners, 7 jerk baits, 3 bobbins and a small Shimano reel. Reel was toast I believe but I will try to revive it. There are a couple holes past the bridge where I have pulled a few nice SM out of over the years. This is a good time to hit the area, not alot of people or snake and tics. Daveinozark Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 i was wondering about that spot too, and the best way to get there since it was brought up a few times. Driving that road by the tracks there are several no trespassing signs so I've never bothered stopping there. Guess walking the trail or floating will have to do.
Members BKDANGLE Posted March 22, 2010 Members Posted March 22, 2010 If you turn on the road on the south side of power plant and go that way they have painted the purple rings on the trees..... i was told that means no trespassing....we have walked down from the spillway and we got to a point where you have to cross a small water oulet and climb a hill and we got ran off...there was good fishing down there but I would check with Mo. conservation to see just how much the city utilities actually own.......my son in law and I got ran off of the water in an aluminum boat in the spillway area by the Securitas guard that works the employee entrance booth. He stopped traffic on the bridge and yelled for us to get off the water and then said that as long as he was ther he would not allow boats on the water.....I contacted Sharon Orenburgh with Mo,cons. and she went and talked to the city utilities and we were back on the water the next weekend....so it pays to check...Don't let some utility worker drive you out of his "honey Hole " because he says you can't be there B.K.Dangle Fishing

I may or may not have yelled for him to come and tell me a little closer. O.K. - I actually told him to swim his @%# over closer to tell what he was trying to say to me. He eventually went away. CU doesn't own the river.
