Members knuck Posted January 4, 2010 Members Posted January 4, 2010 To Phil or anyone else that boat fishes on a regular basis, Looking forward to our southern trek to the balmy weather of SoMo from the arctic region of STL. Actually I would like to gather info. on generation, any reports fellow fisherman would care to share and possibly a direct question to Phil regarding the use of the public ramp at Cooper's. Do you think it will be usable this weekend? With the bitter cold it usually only takes a few haulouts to render it useless. Any info would be greatly appreciated by me and several other fisherman that will be making the trip down. Steve in STL
troutgnat Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Steve, With the weather the way it is and freezing temps I would not trust Coopers access ramp. I have not launched there in these conditions but from past experience like you said; water on a boat ramp in these temps is not good. And this ramp in particular is one steep puppy! My advice is to launch out of the public ramp next to Scotty's Trout Dock next to Bass Pro. It's a little further boat ride by water but so much easier of a launch. This ramp is in much slacker water and practically a flat launch. Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
