Members CS Huntley Posted January 7, 2010 Members Posted January 7, 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4802526 Looks like Kansas City is bringing yet another former member of the Patriots staff to the team. Weis seemed like a good offense coordinator for New England and hopefully he can get back to what he knows best. He ran a high powered offense at Notre Dame, but just couldn't handle the head coach position there. He already has an established relationship with Pioli (in New England)and he and Haley worked together with the Jets when they were both starting out. Hopefully their close relationship will allow Haley to assume the head coach role and stop micro-managing the offense. I think (hope) this is a step in the right direction.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 We can hope, but I think Haley also has to realize that his team is made up of experienced all stars, not wide eyed 10 year olds. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Buzz Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I just hope next year they can play half as well as they did last week. They have the talent that's for sure. It's just a matter of putting it to good use. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I understand that Haley fired both line coaches. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members CS Huntley Posted January 13, 2010 Author Members Posted January 13, 2010 Well today the Chiefs announced that they are bringing in Romeo Crennel to be the new defensive coordinator (they fired Clancy after one year). For those that don't know, he was the defensive coordinator for New England during their "dynasty" years, and worked opposite Weis and with Pioli. It sure seems that these two new guys would be loyal to Pioli first, and then Haley as a second. With these two guys in place, I don't think it would be a problem to fire Haley at all. However it all shakes out, it should make for an interesting season.
KCRIVERRAT Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Think about this for a second. Pioli is the GM. Weis and Crennel are the coordinators. Haley is the head coach?. Could Bill Bellichek be our head coach soon? New England is starting to regress. There's work to be done in KC. Hmmmmm.....? HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Members CS Huntley Posted January 14, 2010 Author Members Posted January 14, 2010 Yeah it kinda feels like Haley is becoming irrelevent very quickly. The media says it was his idea to bring in the two new coordintors, but I can't imagine that Pioli didn't play a big part in this. It's just too much of a coinsidence.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 The problem is that before it can all work you have to have the personal. Not only the talent, but the right mentality. That's why there's no dynasties. It a great move, but now it has to work as planed. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
