Yeah, I heard that on the news last night. I know the bridge needs to be replaced, but I hate to see the old things go. You know they'll replace it with a modern concrete bridge with no overhead and no character at all, like the new one they built at Riverdale a few years ago. I figure Green Bridge will be the next to go. I remember my grandpa taking me fishing there about 1955 - we caught a bunch of fish but the snakes finally ran us off. Things change.

What's to be done with the Inn property? I was hoping maybe it would end up being access.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I haven't heard anything yet. In the article about the bridge they talk about straightening the road leading up to the new bridge, that'll cut right across where Riverside Inn now sits if that winds up being the plan. Access would be nice up there, then you could easily skip the park in Summer.

I don't know, but I'll be asking questions to find out. Maybe a gravel bar or even a ramp under the new bridge? I'm doubtful, but you never know.

Have the people at riverside closed up shop yet? When they move out I would have to assume that the property was then county land and one could access the river without fear of trespassing. I'm hoping that the county and city turn the area into an extension of the park but who knows if they will or not.

i wouldn't worry about the tresspassing signs. towards the end of fall I asked if I could park there and the owners said that was fine. That was before all the press about them closing. I haven't been over there since a few bad outings late fall though. Definetly should ask if you see anyone there though. With a large new bridge it should be more accessible, once the Inn gets torn down.

One would think, I know that's dangerous, given the fact the public had to fork over a lot of money to buy the Inn because of floods, a green space open to the public would be flood damage proof.
