Aaron J Scott Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Anyone have a guess as to the current surface water temperature at TRL? Particularly around Indian Point, which I assume would be considered the main channel. Has much of TRL frozen over? I haven't been down for several weeks to see. I heard from my parents that LOZ had frozen pretty well in some parts. FYI, we're referencing it in a story for the Business Journal this week. Thanks, guys! Save Scratch, Raise Cash. Fish Itch!
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted January 14, 2010 Fishing Buddy Posted January 14, 2010 Nope we are open around here, lake temps is in the mid 40's in that area and should show some type of warm up with all of the warm south winds blowing in.. Snow is all gone so all of the ramps are open now around here as well. Time to go fishing!! Good Fishing Don Capt. Sam Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Surface temps in the mid-40's? That's not bad considering the cold spell we had. My depthfinder reads the temp only a few inches down, and I've wondered how much water temperature changes down where the fish are - say, 20-25 feet or more. I'm sure it's a lot more stable there, summer and winter. Does anybody know? It looks like the arctic blast is over, and I'm going to hit Bull Shoals on Sunday. First trip of the new year - I've been needing that!

Hopefully it won't get too much colder come mid-February when they have the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge. That's what the article is about. Has the Business Journal talked to you in the past? Seems like I remember making calls to someone who went by the title "Captain," which is an unfortunate rarity in our publication! Save Scratch, Raise Cash. Fish Itch!
