DaddyO Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Well, it looks like the generation schedule is cooperating. If the weatherman is wrong, which they usually are, I'm going to go wet a line Saturday morning. I just talked to my favorite fishing buddy (My Dad) and he says he might go with me. Maybe I'll see some of you other guys down there. I'm taking the rain jacket just in case. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
BFTMASTER Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Don't under estimate rainy fishing days. Some of my best days were in pouring down rain. As long as it's not freezing, i welcome the rain. hope you have fun!!
OKFlyFisher44 Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Good luck Phil! Catch a few for me! I'm headed out tomorrow after work for 1 last duck hunt for the season... Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
On The Fly 6 Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Hope you did well today DaddyO! My uncle, who lives in Gore, went out today and said he did well fishing a red midge at the Watts area. Im hoping to get lucky tomorrow when I head down there(granted the rain doesnt entice them to start generating) "The difference between fly fishers and worm dunkers is the quality of their excuses." -Anonymous "I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering trout." -by Paul O'Neil
DaddyO Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Chance and OTF6, Wish you could've been there today. The fishing was good but will probably be better Sunday. The weather was off and on with the last few daylight hours of the day being perfect. I caught about 30 fish, again. Here's a sample of what's out there waiting for you guys. I caught fish on the BobWhite, Hair and Copper, Olive Micro jig and Pink Chenille wrapped Bead Head fly. However, I had the most fun stripping a white #10 wooly bugger. They just tore it up!! It was a good day. Fished with my Dad, Brother, nephew and ran into Rick and Bryan down there too. I think Rick and Bryan only fished the crystal flash white wooly buggers and they just slayed them. (Rick, you need to post your video) Tight Lines!! DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
OKFlyFisher44 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Phil...the duck hunting trip got cancelled due to weather and rain, the scouting report from my buddies said there were no ducks to be found in the area. Thinking the weather pushed them out... So I'm going fishing tomorrow! Woohoo!! Hopefully they don't start generating... If anyone is down there, I'll be in a black/silver dodge ram or look for me on the river in a green/white Scott hat and a olive green wading jacket. Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
DaddyO Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Chance, Have fun. It should be a good day for you. Let us know how you did. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
On The Fly 6 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Good to hear things went well DaddyO. Ill be down there tomorrow and hopefully they will still be hitting well. I think I fixed the waders..but tomorrow I guess ill know for sure! Ill be out there with my future brother in-law. Tied up a few flies I think may work, but Im really looking forward to throwing a white wooly or bead head at them! DaddyO Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 OTF6, I can't wait to hear how you guys did. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
On The Fly 6 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 OTF6, I can't wait to hear how you guys did. The fishing was good today! Caught all my fish on a white prolite jig, fished near the bottom. I finished with about 10, some dinks and a few bigger ones. I always neglect my camera...so no pictures this time. I went with my future brother in-law, and I dont know what he was doing right...but he couldnt get the fish off his line fast enough! He was throwing a white wooly and giving it a short violent twitch every 5 seconds and they destroyed it! I tried the same thing...got a few hits here and there. I was practically shoulder to shoulder with him and couldnt get the results he did! Its the first time he's out fished me since I got him into the enticing hobby of fly fishing! Hes gotten pretty good! Im hoping to make it down there again sometime soon. (and encroach my will on the trout!) Oh...and Ill be needing some new waders. I didnt get the leak fixed like I had hoped. Ill just have to seal ALL the seams on them....but I think for now Ill just get a new pair!
