Reel Recovery Day at Beaver

And One Fly Contest

Saturday, June 12th at the Beaver Dam Store

Eureka Springs, AR

The event will run from 7:00am to 3:00pm and will feature

A One Fly Contest, fly tying from local experts, casting instruction, and auctions

The One Fly Contest will run from 7:00am to 11:00am

Entry fee is $10.00, extra flies up to 5-$5.00 each

Pairings will be drawn at 6:30am

Free hot dog lunch

Free fishing weekend – No license required

100% of all proceeds will go to the Reel Recovery Retreats in Arkansas for men in AR, MO, OK, KS and TN

Reel Recovery is a non-profit group that provides a fly fishing retreat for men with life threatening cancer free of charge

Would love to have you come down Don. I plan on updating as we go along. I wanted to get the word out so people could plan for it. We are shooting for some good prizes for the one fly and neat raffle/silent auction/auction prizes. Last for donations we got a bunch of hackles from Denny Conrach, a signed print from Dave Whitlock, a Reel Recovery TFO rod, a few guide trips, and a few resort gift certs. This year we add the one fly and hopefully a good bit more people.

Slowly drawing nearer. Wanted to post a few thank you's for donated items. Good Afternoon Everyone,

I just wanted to drop a small update on the Reel Recovery work being done in Arkansas. Our Reel Recovery Day at the Beaver Dam Store is picking up steam. We have setup a Facebook event that I have been updating periodically with information and donation updates. Along with this, we just launched the website for the event.

I will be using this in conjunction with the Facebook event to keep everyone up to date on what happening leading up to our fundraiser.

Ken is gearing up for his Arkansas River Float. Here is the timeline he has so far of where's and when's:

Come out to see Ken off on March 27th. There will be a number of boats, canoes, and kayaks. He is currently getting in contact with the Mayors at the city's he will be stopping at. Hopefully we will see him pop up on the news or in the paper.

Retreat Number 1 has been set. We will be having it a Spring Valley Anglers near Gravette on April 19th - 21st. Kevin Calhoun is heading up the volunteers and the "ins/outs" of this retreat. Please contact him with any questions. We are also still looking for participants, so if you know of a man who either is currently or has in the past battled cancer, please point him to the Reel Recovery website.

Come on out and see us this weekend on the Beaver Taiwlaters. WE will be having a One Fly Contest and also a raffle/silent&live auction. Hotdogs will be provided. Our prize items are looking good. They include a Dave Whitlock print, Scott S4 6wt rod, Fishpond Bootbag, Sharkskin and Rio lines, various fly collections, C&F Gear, three hackles from Conrach Hackles, a few beginner tying kits, and the list goes on.

Signup for the One Fly will be at the Beaver Dam Store at 6am-6:45am. 7am starts the One Fly Contest. 11am we will all meet at the first parking lot below the dam to tally the results of the One Fly and have some hotdogs. Live auction, silent auction, and raffle to follow. All monies collected will go to help fund our Reel REcovery Retreats here in Arkansas.
