Members phins Posted February 17, 2010 Members Posted February 17, 2010 It's a long ride from Ralls County just to be suprised at the work done over a winter. [Never will get over those jetties just popping up.] Any holes scoured out or structure added this winter to the stream. Thanks ahead of time.
Randall Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I didn't see anything when I was there in November. I'd like to see em do something about all the mini ponds, like shallow them up with gravel. Some of that water is good for streamers or spinners and bait but all the weeds and slow water is not what I look for in a trout stream. Cute animals taste better.
Members Sherwood Flycaster Posted February 18, 2010 Members Posted February 18, 2010 May want to read this: http://threeriverspu...d=66&Itemid=264 Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
trizkid Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 happy to read that article. im hoping if more fish start holding in the lower spring branch it might help spread out the crowds , being there is more fish holding spots to work at instead of everyone trying to fish the same couple of holes. Bman Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 May want to read this: http://threeriverspu...d=66&Itemid=264 Thanks for that post, I was wondering what was going on down there. The only good line is a tight line
Randall Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Cool. Guess I'll have to fish it this spring or summer to see. Cute animals taste better.
Members phins Posted February 19, 2010 Author Members Posted February 19, 2010 I do appreciate the information Sherwood. Owe ya a beer. Don't get down there too often and now know how to start a days fishing. Should make fishing a nymph more interesting. Thanks.
Randall Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 If I'm thinking right bout where they placed them, get a streamer down by those root wads and see it there isn't a little piggy hiding out in there. Cute animals taste better.
XP 590 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I found this interesting article about this in Missouri Conservationist magazine. http://mdc.mo.gov/conmag/2010/03/conserv.htm
