I fished Saturday over at the Park here in Ozark. Saw a couple of folks out including a guy in a whitewater Kayak that had the worst combo of camoflouge and day-glo tie-dye I've ever seen. My eyes still ache from that one. Anyway, the water is still pretty frigid, but I did manage a couple of small Bass on the new XRap shad shallow doctored up with a little lead weight to suspend perfectly. I was only out for about 2 1/2 or maybe 3 hours, but it was nice to get out.:goodjob:

Were they LM's. Are the lily pads still there, I thought I hear they washed out?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

One "Green fish" (Largemouth) and one Smallmouth.

Lily pads die in Winter, but they'll be back in Spring. I didn't catch any fish where they grow, but I didn't fish there, either.

How far down was the smallie found? If you don't mind. I was thinking that some fish might come down to the slow water to winter.

They do. Ain't saying where exactly...

Of course, of course, I wouldn't expect you to, just kind of curious. I'm dieing to to get into some smallmouth, the LM at Springfield Lake are nice but they are no replacement. Thanks.

You have no idea how happy I am that the fish are biting, even if its a slow bite. I'm ready to hook into some Missouri fish again. I've been living in Oklahoma for a year or so, and it's great and all, but you just can't compete with fishing the Finley.
