RSBreth Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I fished Saturday over at the Park here in Ozark. Saw a couple of folks out including a guy in a whitewater Kayak that had the worst combo of camoflouge and day-glo tie-dye I've ever seen. My eyes still ache from that one. Anyway, the water is still pretty frigid, but I did manage a couple of small Bass on the new XRap shad shallow doctored up with a little lead weight to suspend perfectly. I was only out for about 2 1/2 or maybe 3 hours, but it was nice to get out.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Were they LM's. Are the lily pads still there, I thought I hear they washed out? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
RSBreth Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 Were they LM's. Are the lily pads still there, I thought I hear they washed out? One "Green fish" (Largemouth) and one Smallmouth. Lily pads die in Winter, but they'll be back in Spring. I didn't catch any fish where they grow, but I didn't fish there, either.
smallmouthjoe Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 How far down was the smallie found? If you don't mind. I was thinking that some fish might come down to the slow water to winter.

smallmouthjoe Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Of course, of course, I wouldn't expect you to, just kind of curious. I'm dieing to to get into some smallmouth, the LM at Springfield Lake are nice but they are no replacement. Thanks.
Members Joe Adams Posted February 26, 2010 Members Posted February 26, 2010 You have no idea how happy I am that the fish are biting, even if its a slow bite. I'm ready to hook into some Missouri fish again. I've been living in Oklahoma for a year or so, and it's great and all, but you just can't compete with fishing the Finley.
