damselfly Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 dano, the primrose and pearl zebra midge is this-- copper tungsten bead to match hook size 14/0 thread in 'primrose' -- (brand name on thread is 'sheer' bought mine @river run outfitters) pearl flash, small copper wire if you want a better look @one of these -- the sell them @river run -- they are my 'go to' fly @taney right now as they catch lots of fish!
Danoinark Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 Thanks Damsel...I would presume the primrose and pearl soft hackle is just the same P and R Zebra tied with some soft hackle behind the bead. Dano Hey John I bet mine are uglier than yours.... Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"

Okieflyfisher53 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Dano, I googled "ugly zebra midge" and came up with this. There are pics. http://www.bransoncourier.com/article.php?news_ID=523 If you click on "The Old Seagull's Small Five" you get bigger pics of the flies. Steve

Don Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Besides the pearl and primrose midge, what materials are used for the other midges listed on Seagull's top five? I had great results with the copper dun midge that I purchased. Thanks, Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
