Members Mike D77 Posted March 7, 2010 Members Posted March 7, 2010 Or even the team tourney today? Curious to see how tough it was.
zipstick Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Heard that R. Fitzpatrick won it with about 17 pounds and 4th place had about 14. Some jerkbait, some jig. Some didn't catch fish at all. A buddy of mine who's a good stick bait man, didn't get a single bite yesterday fun fishing in the lower lake. Water temps were still 36 according to his thermometer. Hurry up, warm rains!
MstStudent10 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I fished it as a Co angler and let me tell you it was HARD!!! I and my 2 roommates who were both co anglers caught ZERO fish all day as well as all 3 of our pros. From what I saw, about 1/3 of the field ZEROed. And another 1/3 brought in bags with just 1 fish. Even the guys that DID catch em said the bite was few and far between. I know on the co angler side the top 3 bags were 12lbs (Yes that is an amazing bag and a different story), and then 8lbs and 8lbs. It went downhill from there... The lake is very stained, with the clearest water I saw was about 2 to 2 and a half visibility with the lake temp ranging from 36-40 in the areas I was at. NOTE-I did hear some hearsay about parts of the lake that were holding 49-50 degree water temperature, but wouldn't know anything about it. Set the hook first, ask questions later...
Jeremy Rasnick Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Im heading up next weekend to fish the BFL. I really hope things kick it in gear. I have a feeling that fishing will really pick up, and I also have a feeling that it would be good to draw R. Fitzpatrick as it usually is this time of year.
Members Mike D77 Posted March 8, 2010 Author Members Posted March 8, 2010 i herd roger won it on a jig... Shocker, says that every tournament.

Todd at Omega has in my opinion the best jigs on the market... great high quality hooks and the head design comes through any cover better than anything i have fished with... when it comes to tournament quality jigs you get what you pay for...

Found fifty two degree water yesterday, and some clean water as well, just not many fish. Ill be on the co-angler side of the BFL, its going to be tough if I have to fish dirty water.
