Thanks for your guidance Ryan Ryan, I have gotten into schools of whites around G. Winter Park when the Mississippi backs up into the Meramec. Like now. No luck on any of the species you mentioned in the areas you asked about. What boat do you run? I will keep an eye out for ya. The only good line is a tight line

Usually hanging out beween George Winter and Pacific. Soon as it warms up you will see me bowfishing every chance I get just north of GW. TAking out all the asian carp I can. If you ever would like to give it a try hit me up. Thanks Ryan

I've been wanting to find a place fairly close where I could target 'em with a flyrod, without having to buy an Illinois fishing license... Tom.

Will they hit a fly? I know regular Carp will hit dry flies like when the Cottonwoods are dropping their seeds. The only good line is a tight line

I've heard that, in spring, when they stack up around the mouth of feeder creeks and other flowing waters to spawn, that you can target them throwing white clouser and deceiver-type flies. Apparently it's an aggression/territorial response, sorta like pissed-off browns in the fall. I think it'd be worth a shot, and it'd be a blast getting one of those 10-15 pounders on the end of a flyrod. Shotgun would be fun, so would a baseball bat. Apparently it's now legal to keep/creel 'em if you catch them in a net midair. Tom.

Here soon they will begin to stack up at the mouths but I have not seen them hit anything on the surface. I do know that if you use large white streamers you guys may have some goog luck in some of the slack waters with gar if your jusst interested in a good fight.

Any where trees are dropping anything in the water the carp are stacked up
