polock Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Ok guys, I got the new kayak, it is the bass pro ascend sit in 10' I got the middle end model. I didn't see paying 100 extra bucks for an extra paddle holder, 2 flush mount pole holders and a tray mounted pole holder, I added in a tray mount fishing holder and one flush mounted pole holder. I took it out today and it trackes very well. It strayed a bit when the wind picked up quite a bit, but for the length it did very very well. I am super thrilled about my purchase now. It is a bit heavy and I am going to make a milk crate cart for it. Since the back storage hole has a recess for a milk crate, it will be perfect.
pvspmo Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Nice looking rig! How do you like getting in and out of it? I bought the Mad River Synergy 12... I use it on Table Rock in the early mornings to fish a couple of coves that are close to our place in Shell Knob but have also had it on the Finley and love it. The Synergy 12 is kind of a hybrid canoe/sit on top kayak. I also made a cart to help haul it. I used PVC with an axle and wheels from Harbor Freight. There is a good video on youtube of a milk crate cart if you are looking for ideas. Here is a pic of mine...
