Thom Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 If anyone has any info on Maramec I would appreciate the info for this week. I am hoping to get down for a short trip thursday to try out some of the many winter time fly creations and gifts and swap flies. If it is good and water conditions reaasonable I might stay overnight. If any of y ou are going I will be the guy in the Grey Tahoe with the trout unlimited sticker on the back wearing a OAF hat. Hopefully the one with a fish on yellin "OH YEAH' Thanks. Thom Thom Harvengt

But with no more rain in the forecast, I would say it should be at least border-line fishable by Thursday. Some folks say it has to be down to 500 CFS, but I've had good fishing in both the spring branch and the river down to the junction with Dry Fork up to 750 Cubic Feet Per Second. Above that, the river generally becomes unfishable and the park gets tough. Good luck!
Bman Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Thom, I haven't been down to M.S.P. since the catch & release season ended. With high water the fish will be deep and pushed up against the banks. A Taney dropper rig of egg/scud, or sj worm/scud with lots of tippet and lots of lead should do it. Good luck. I hope to meet you possibly at Taney sometime. I will be at Lilleys the third week in May. Bruce The only good line is a tight line
Thom Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Thanks for the info guys. The last time I was there the water was high and the fishing was tough. I might consider postponing till the following week .... I will keep that date in mind bman. Of course Taney is my choice and fishing out of the boat is much easier for me since my knees are so fragile. I always do well there though it sometimes takes a day to find what is on the menu ... after that is is fun and games. Thom Thom Harvengt
ozark trout fisher Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Thanks for the info guys. The last time I was there the water was high and the fishing was tough. I might consider postponing till the following week .... I think that might be a good choice. It's running at 1580 right now, and that's just too high. It certainly could drop enough by Thursday, but it's pretty uncertain.
