Spent Thursday and Friday on the river between Turner and Whiten. Fishing was good both days with bigger fish being caught on Friday. Boated my 19 year old son (many trips under his belt) and two of his buddies to Stinking Pond for a couple of nights of camping and his buddies ....first time on the river for both buddies and first time fishing for trout....both loved it and were talking on the ride home about going back as soon as they could. What can one say...the weather was perfect!!! A great time on the river but saw very little traffic. Saw three or four canoes and maybe 5 other boats. Before the trip, our group was a bit concerned about the high and fast water, but, finding the right way to get to the bottom didn't take long...as always, the ticket to catching fish on this river.(IMO) Met and talked to the ghost angler for a little bit as we were both in a hurry to get a line wet!!! Got your message and hope you got mine back...if not, let me know!!! Will pass word to friend though!!!

Good fishing for us as well on Wed and Thur and great time spent on the river. Even better time off the river too. I love the river, the area, the people, the entire time down on the river. I wish we could make it down more often. Brian thanks again for the transfers.

...was pushed for time when starting thread, need to add to it.....half the fish caught had been in the river for a while while the other half were recent stockers. Most fish caught were on egg patterns with a few caught on white maribou jigs and rooster tails. Due to the water running a bit high and fast, we were not able to wade as much as we would have liked. Therefore, drift fishing worked well for us. We caught fish in places where we had never fished before. Stinking Pond camp site has changed a bit. Not nearly as much sand as when we left it last Fall. It had become the best camp site below Turner (IMO) but it now looks like it is time to explore a few of the many other potential sites. Also, saw more ducks than ever before and happy to say that, again, no river otters were sighted!!!
